Frequently Asked Questions...
going to court for theft?
long story short, my brothers an idiot.
hes been arrested for theft 3 times now.
the first time was a guitar and an amplifier from his school which they got back,
the police outcome was he was repremanded. second time was stealing a single hubcap/
wheel trim off a car (the womans sueing him for roughly £2.50 hahaha) and now hes done
the worst of all, stole two 16inch lcd tvs from a supermarket, all he done was remove the
security tags and put them in a bag and walk out, no damage done at all, and he was stopped
by the guards about 2 meters outside of the doors. the shop could sell them on and no one would
be none the wiser. the total cost for both tv's was £250.00.
if a lawyer or a judge or police officer could give their opinion that would be great, i just want to
know what would happen to him, hes recently turnt 18 and this is his first and last time at court.
we are expecting community service, if your opinion differs please say so.
thanks in advance
Answer:
The court will probably see him as well on course for a criminal career. That means that the chief concern will be rehabilitation before the rot really sets in. I imagine that they will order reports with all options open and your brother had better sort his ideas out and be as cooperative as possible with Probation.
Community service is a distinct possibility.
