Frequently Asked Questions...
Why is my dog breathing fast when she is at rest?
We adopted a 6 month old American Staffordshire Terrier 2 days ago. My husband noticed that at rest and as she sleeps her breathing is fast at more than 50 per minute. Her mouth is closed and she is pretty calm. I do not think its the weather since it's been cool lately. Is this something we should worry about? I know she needs to be seen by a vet but I want to know what others think.
Answer:
She could just be dreaming.
Or maybe it's just that shes trying to get comfortable in the surroundings without being awake. Perhaps her body is just getting used to the environment, if that makes sense. . .
But yeah, the Vet sounds like a good idea so he can actually check out what's going on.
